COP-26

The Conference of the Parties or COP to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is a two-week conference that has taken place annually since 1995. Essentially, it is a formal negotiating session for countries to advance their climate commitments and actions, but it has also become an important forum for a wide variety of stakeholders from around the world to gather and discuss the climate crisis and solutions. POJF, participating in the COP as Government delicate and Observer Organization since 2013, has been contributing with other international organizations to the changing situations of climate change mitigation and adaptation. POJF has also been raising awareness, creating resilience, and promoting sustainable development in accordance with the UNFCCC resolutions through diverse media.

Like previous years, Mr. Muqeed Majumdar Babu, the Chairman of Prokriti O Jibon Foundation is currently attending the UN Climate Conference: COP26 at Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. It is also the 3rd meeting of the Parties after the historic Paris Agreement. As such, POJF as well as all relevant parties have been focusing on implementation of immediate action and greater contribution to realize the Resolutions reached in the Paris Agreement. Prominent among these Resolutions is securing the promised 100 Billion Dollars of funds for initiating nation specific as well as global activities regarding the Net Zero Initiative.
