In 2018, Nature Conservation Award has been conferred to Dr. Mihir Kanti Majumder, Chairman of Palli Sanchay Bank (Former Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Forests), for his exemplary contribution to conserve the environment and natural resources of Bangladesh. He played a vital role in implementing Bangladesh Climate Change Action Plan 2009, Climate Change Trust Acts 2010, Environment Conservation Acts 2010, Wildlife Conservation Acts 2012, Biodiversity Acts 2012 while acting as a Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
