Professor Dr. Mohammad Monirul Hasan Khan, a prominent educator, and researcher in Bangladesh, has been awarded ‘Prokriti O Jibon Foundation-Channel i Nature Conservation Award 2021′ for his outstanding contribution to the betterment of the environment and biodiversity of Bangladesh.With Commonwealth Scholarship from the UK Government, Dr. Khan obtained his Ph.D. in 2004, from University of Cambridge, for the research on the ecology and conservation of Sundarbans Tigers.Presently he is serving as a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Zoology, Jahangirnagar University. His researches include various vertebrate wildlife of Bangladesh i.e., mammals, birds, amphibians, and reptiles.Dr. Khan has authored many important strategy papers on wildlife conservation as well as several books on the wildlife of Bangladesh among which ‘Photographic Guide to the Wildlife of Bangladesh’ is notable.Along with the award, Dr. Khan has received a cheque of BDT 1 lac from Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited, and a certificate of free medical treatment for life from Bangladesh Specialized Hospital.
