People from many rural areas of Bangladesh use firewood, biomass or expensive LPG gas cylinders to facilitate their daily cooking as they lack household cooking gas supply. POJF in association with Practical Action in project ‘Waste to Energy in Bagerhat’ has worked to conduct field research, design and create video documentation to disseminate knowledge on ways of generating energy from municipal kitchen waste, its impact in their lives and livelihood, motivations for proper waste management practices for safe life and safe environment in association with the Municipality members, local people, other local NGOs. This project included conducting field research to design, produce and telecast Video Documentary on Project Waste to Energy to portray real context in Bagerhat. The production plays a vital role in creating awareness among the mass people on the importance of proper eco-friendly waste Management as well as use of eco-friendly energy sources for achieving sustainable development.
