Since inception in 2009, POJF’s long journey of advocacy and development works has been dedicated to building an environmentally conscious nation. Where conscientious citizens of the world would strive for peaceful coexistence of life in nature. Because, only together we can save our ecosystem and heal our green earth blemished with pollution.
MISSION
Our mission is to grow awareness on climate change, biodiversity and nature conservation among the people of Bangladesh in order to fulfill the bigger picture of making the country a better & greener place to live.
- Produces and telecasts Prokriti O Jibon television series;
- Raises awareness on biodiversity, nature and climate change from grassroots through traditional and folk cultural activities;
- Publishes books, magazines, leaflets, booklets, DVDs and pen drives on biodiversity and nature;
- Organizes photo exhibition and art competition;
- Organizes eco-friendly nature tour;
- Organizes nature related fairs.
Carries out research on wildlife, endangered species, biodiversity, nature and climate change impact issues for sustainable development and management of natural resources.
- Builds skills in natural history documentary;
- Facilitates Environmental Education through Nationwide School Campaign;
- Forms People’s Opinion Forum and Nationwide Prokriti O Jibon Nature Club.
- Enhances awareness among urban poor households to address impact of climate change to improve their lives in Bangladesh;
- Initiates programs for women empowerment at grassroots level in Bangladesh to address impacts of climate change while addressing economic disparity;
- Reinforces awareness among investors and development partners to lead climate friendly investments and developments
- Organizes & Confers Nature Conservation Award;
- Offers Student Project on Nature Conservation, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation.
- Provides healthcare, emergency treatment, mother & child care, and medicine free of cost;
- Provides financial grant to facilitate life threatening or critical operation, continuing education;
- Facilitates means to ensure livelihood generation for ultra-poor, widowed women, differently abled, and climate refugee population by donating motorized vans, motorized rickshaws, sewing machines, wheelchairs, etc.;
- Conducts Special Day celebrations to promote inclusive social advancement with differently abled people, and special needs children;
- Conducts emergency medical camp, relief campaign, food and monetary aid grassroots campaign for disaster survivors throughout Bangladesh.
