FACILITATING CITIZEN SCIENCE TO CONSERVE THE BIODIVERSITY AND NATURAL RESOURCES OF BANGLADESH USING DIFFERENT DIGITAL PLATFORMS

Citizen science is a kind of scientific research done by amateurs or scientists which includes public participation, participatory monitoring and participatory action research. The outcomes of this kind of scientific research are often advancements as well as increase in the public’s understanding of science.  Citizen science demands the participation of nonscientists in the process of gathering data according to scientific protocols and in the process of using and interpreting that data.

Application of Citizen Science in forest management and biodiversity conservation in Bangladesh can be an effective way. Groups of different aged people, who are nature enthusiasts, interested in wildlife and concerned about the threats, are formed in areas considered as ecologically important.
