NATURE CONSERVATION AWARD-2012

In 2012, Eminent Zoologist and wildlife conservationist, Dr. Reza Khan was awarded the Nature Conservation Award for his dynamic contribution for the conservation of wildlife and biodiversity of the country. Being a student of Zoology, he got opportunities to work with famous scientists like Prof. Kazi Zaker Husain and ornithologist Salim Ali. He has been a faculty of Zoology at the University of Dhaka and later at Rajshahi University. During that time, he has collected many wildlife specimens for the museum of the university. In 1983, he took on the role of the Curator of the Al-Ain Zoo and Aquarium, UAE. He became Head of Dubai Zoo in 1989 and then went on to become a Specialist in Wildlife and Zoo Management in 2010. The Government of Dubai has published four of his books including Indigenous Trees of the UAE, and Birds of Dubai – A Pictorial Guide. His numerous scientific articles on wildlife have been published in both national and international journals.
