In 2017, Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), was awarded the Nature Conservation Award for his trailblazing contribution in the climate sector and for the conservation of nature and natural resources of Bangladesh. He is a famous economist of the country. Besides doing economics related works, Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad is also involved in various environment related programs. He has been doing various researches as well as field works on impact of climate change and its mitigation. He has been working as a coordinator of the Bangladesh Climate Change Negotiation Team at the World Climate Conference since 2009. In addition to this, he represents Bangladesh in the UN Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs). He is involved in several research works on river and water resources also.
