In 2015, renowned Wildlife Biologist Professor Dr. Noor Jahan Sarker was awarded the Nature Conservation Award for her outstanding contribution for the conservation of biodiversity, environment and nature of Bangladesh. She had been working as a faculty of the Department of Zoology, the University of Dhaka for more than 35 years. She has published six books on wildlife and environment. Her research works have been published in various national and international scientific journals. By self-initiative approach,she plants 500 forest, fruit and medicinal plants each year through her relatives and students. Professor Sarker is a lifetime member of the Zoological Society of Bangladesh, Asiatic Society of Bangladesh and Bangla Academy.
